Sneak Peek of the All-New 2026 MasterCraft X22: The Future of 22-Foot Towboats

Dec. 10 2025 News By Midwest Water Sports

A new era of premium towboats is on the horizon, and Midwest Water Sports is excited to introduce one of the most anticipated launches in the wake and surf world—the all-new 2026 MasterCraft X22. While MasterCraft has kept many details of the upcoming X22 under wraps, the information we do have paints a clear picture: this is going to be a powerhouse 22-footer inspired by the groundbreaking new X24, engineered for boaters who want world-class performance in a more agile package.

A Compact Beast: Size, Weight, and Presence on the Water

Boaters who’ve experienced the new MasterCraft X24 know it raised the bar for 24-foot luxury towboats. With its redesigned hull, transom walk-thru, power tower, windshield, Meridian Stereo and highly refined interior, the X24 delivered a wave shape and on-water experience that stunned the industry. The all New 2026 X22 will be a Mini Version of the X24.

Now imagine that innovation distilled into a more compact, more accessible format.

The upcoming 2026 MasterCraft X22 will follow the same design language as the new X24, including:

  • A bold new hull profile

  • A premium, ergonomic, modernized interior

  • The same luxurious fit, finish, and durability that define the MasterCraft X-Series

If you’ve wanted the performance of the X24 but in a boat that fits better on your lake, your lift, or your budget, the X22 is poised to be the perfect answer.

Performance You Can Trust from MasterCraft

While full specs haven’t been released yet, we expect the 2026 X22 to weigh in at a dry weight of 6900 pounds, and have a ballast capacity of 3800 pounds.

Combined with the boat’s ballast capacity and hull design, the X22 is positioned to become one of the most versatile and high-performance towboats in the 22-foot segment. From surf to wakeboard to long, relaxed cruises across the lake, this boat is built to do it all.

We are excited for our first X22 (along with the full specs) to come. We will have one at the 2026 Boat Show for a first chance viewing of the boat.
